Ah, the night before the NET. You've got your books spread out like a buffet, and your highlighters have seen better days. Your room looks like a war zone, with sticky notes plastered everywhere. You decide to call it a night, hoping a good night's sleep will be your secret weapon.

Your alarm blares at an ungodly hour. You leap out of bed, adrenaline coursing through your veins. Breakfast? Who has time for breakfast? You nibble on a piece of chapati, more out of habit than hunger. Your parents give you the usual pep talk, but their words barely register. It's game day, and you're already in the zone.

The drive to the exam center feels like a pilgrimage. Whether you're coming from a neighbouring town or a different city altogether, every traffic light conspires against you, turning red just as you approach. You check your watch every five seconds, convinced time is speeding up just to mess with you. You finally arrive at NUST and head towards Gate 4, joining the throng of test-takers.

You reach Gate 4 and find yourself in a queue, waiting to submit your belongings. This line feels endless, and you're surrounded by nervous chatter and the occasional stressed-out sigh. You hand over your bag, mobile or any pen that you have, feeling a bit lighter – both figuratively and literally.

You proceed to another line, this one to receive your seat number. Despite standing in the same line with your friends, don't expect to sit anywhere near them. This seating arrangement is the epitome of randomness. You finally get your seat number, a combination of relief and anticipation washing over you.

You enter the air-conditioned exam hall, and it’s like stepping into a different world. A long line of computers stretches out before you. You find your assigned seat and sit down, taking a deep breath. Invigilators are there in every line, ready to help if needed. You look around and realize everyone else is doing the same thing. Misery loves company, right?

The invigilator's voice booms through the hall, announcing the start of the exam. The screen in front of you lights up, and you dive into the digital test after righting your Registration Number. All MCQs, all the time. Some done in seconds and others wavering your confidence. Was it option B or C? There's no use of peaking at your neighbours seat, you see nothing.

The invigilator announces there's 15 minutes left. Panic sets in as you realize there are still a few questions you haven’t answered. You speed through them, hoping for the best. Your hand cramps, but you ignore it, channeling your inner superhero. Finally, the end is in sight. You click your final answer just as time is called.

You stagger out of the hall, a mixture of relief and exhaustion washing over you. You head home, feeling lighter than you have in a long time. The test is over, and now it's out of your hands. You indulge in some well-deserved relaxation – maybe a movie, a nap, or just staring at the ceiling in blissful relief. At least till 11 am tomorrow, that's when you'll get your result

Remember, no matter what the results say, you gave it your all. And hey, you’ve got a great story to tell. Here's to surviving and thriving – bring on the next challenge!
